The atmosphere in this album is just perfect.
Personally didn't have any issues with the vocals.

To be completely honest, when I learn about an album made by a Sputnik user I usually don't go in expecting a huge amount. They're not necessarily bad: they just tend to sound (understandably) amateurish, although there are, of course, exceptions. Like, I'm not sure I'd listen to some of them if they hadn't been made by someone here.
This is a major exception to that rule. This is a legitimately fantastic album. Seriously, Noctus, holy crap. I don't think I've been this stoked on a black metal album since the last Gris album in 2013.

Nice man! Sorta wish I had a cassette player lol. It'd be cool to have on that format.

it'll probably be pretty cheap
failing that, there'll be a cd pressing but that'll come later and feature different artwork (probably)

Big 4.
First track drags a little early on, takes a while to get going, after about the 14.5 minute mark it's awesome. Second track is really well put together but seems less dynamic and emotional compared to the other two. Though that's probably largely because it seems so short by comparison.
Echoes in the Snow is
Oh
My
FUCK! Ugh. Perfect.

that's understandable, it was originally just a short bridge kind of track but it ended up being more than that. i did think about fleshing it out a bit more but opted against it in the end, i really like how it turned out in contrast with the other two main pieces of the record. also, the last four minutes is one of my favourite passages of music i've ever written, heh.
thank you so much, though!

if you listen you can tell when the track was supposed to end and where he tacked on that other section.
|
| |
the last four minutes of that track were the first i wrote, then the first 4 minutes, and the last part i wrote was the bridge between them. none of it was 'tacked on'. :]

Oh I thought you tacked on the last four. I'm sure I'm misremembering now but I was under the impression you added the last part after coming up with that idea and running with it for four minutes. Heh guess not.

it was the 3 minute mark to the 7 minute mark i wrote last. in fact, i wrote the last four minutes of that song when i was 15. i wrote most of echoes in the snow when i was 14 and most of look upon the light a little bit later.
