I still think very highly of this album; the guitars bust out some cool riffs and neat solos and, as always, Joey Jordison is a machine on the kit.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I never thought about all the fanboyism in my review so i'll try get rid of that on my next review. As I said before, I gave this such a high rating because I have to deal with the same social issues and it really helps me get rid of my anger in a healthy way.

Nevertheless, you have to strive for a sense of objectivity. Ratings should be made according to the scope of accomplishment in the genre. A 5 is awarded to albums that are must-have classics of their genre, whether they be exemplary individual records, genre-defining pillars, or genre-redefining turning points.

I agree with splat out path. You can give an album whatever you want based on your own opinion and tastes. Not because everyone else says it is the greatest album ever. You're never gonna get anywere if you make decisions based on everybody elses opinions.

I disagree with your rating but I'm sure you've already heard that.

This is the only Slipknot album I like, maybe because it is actually music.

This is the only slipknot album I can stomach. Vermillion part 2 is a quality track.

As far as a "nu-metal masterpiece", this isn't really one. While it's still a good album, the crowning achievement of the genre is L.D. 50.

Oh Jesus, where to start.

Let's begin with that fact that you made an attack on another person with absolutely no provocation. Now, while her post wasn't a shining example of the kind of stuff we prefer to see around here, it was even lamer of you to attack her taste of a different genre simply because you cry every time somebody disses your favorite band.

Now, if you want to attack people based on their usernames, that's a game I can play much better than you.

Let's also delve into the fact that you have slagged off an entire genre that you clearly know exactly two things about: jack and shit.

Now, if you look into my reviews around here, you'll see that my diverse taste in music clearly means I know more about the subject than you do, and my correct spelling and grammar shows that I am generally smarter than you.

That said, you are full of more shit than a pig pen.

You... fail. This Message Edited On 05.05.06This Message Edited On 05.06.06

Kinda harsh there Steerpike, but i guess your right in the end(by the way most people dont check their grammar cause its just a quick comment and not that really important). By the way how come you can write the word s.h.i.t. without censoring. When i do it it does this shit.

So I should have to put up with difficult-to-read sentences and unintelligible crap just because some kid is too friggin' lazy to type proper punctuation or use a "Shift" key?

By the way how come you can write the word s.h.i.t. without censoring. When i do it it does this ****.

Joke. Noun. Thing said or done intended to cause laughter. Often whimsical or not in earnest.

Re-read the last sentence in my last post. Pay attention to the last couple words. You can figure it out from there in a couple minutes tops.

This is a good album, but I outgrew Slipknot.

Joey is a good drummer, but he has been known to show off.

I don't like it when people go apeshit when people say Joey's a good drummer. I know that there are some better drummers out there but I'm talking about opinion rather than fact, and people bash the person that appreciates Joey's talents because of itThis Message Edited On 07.03.07

BTW, the review is a tad fanboyish, but it's nothing lethal. Although some people have given this a 5 because of the music this album contains and not because it's Slipknot.
