take me over is literally overtake you this band didn't try hard enough on this one

I've still never heard a Red song before.

you'd probably like them a lot tbh
edit: actually, no. I have some faith in you, GB

take me over is Linkin Park's "In My Remains," it's probably the worst song on here.

A big problem I have with this record is the compositions aren't great. There will be some really cool parts in songs, but then it gets knocked back by something really out of place being put in the song.

You mean the strings?

No, just in general. Vocal melodies build up to something, but then just drop to nothing, or you'll get a cool rhythm and it'll just go left field and ruin the vibe.

ah I see

They're going for non comercial I think. I mean it'll be interesting to see what that graphic novel or bid for this looks like

While I enjoyed the album more than DrGonzo1937, I do have to agree with him. I notice it most in the vocals. In some songs, Michael's voice is drowning in the background music and difficult to make out, but in others, it sounds like he's singing to you backstage while the rest of the band is still on stage.
And while I'm not completely satisfied with the way the strings sound, they are still a hell of a lot better than the strings on Recalibrated.

"they are still a hell of a lot better than the strings on Recalibrated."
You bet your ass they are. It's what made Recalibrated a piece of trash.

Part That's Holding On is the only song that really stuck with me after one listen through. Darkest
Part was alright too. Basically, if it has the word Part in it, I'm on board.
Hopefully it grows on me. I actually quite enjoyed old Red, and a few songs off of RTP.

yeah I can't stand rtp and never listened to recalibrated because no amount of strings could ever fix that album.
I'm just glad red is back to their old style with this one, with far greater compositions though they need to try something different next time. if they're thinking going electronic again they should go industrial instead of pop and stay the heck away from howard benson.

they never went electronic

I think he means they're going back toward nu-metal.

okay, but nu-metal isn't exactly electronic

they've always used electronics in the background but songs like as you go, die for you and damage had heavy electronics

this album actually has a lot of electronics in the background, more then on any album (except RTP)

I definitely hear NU-Metal elements on this.
