I'm pretty sure it's deliberately meant to look cephalopod-y. The art design is really amazing, true, although there's stuff by Alcest, Agalloch and the likes that I prefer. Within the DEG discog, I think I prefer DSS' overall artwork by a bit, but this cover specifically is wonderfully mysterious and I might prefer it to DSS'. Both are among the most fitting and cool looking cover arts imo (and Uroboros, while being a bit more neutral in terms of atmosphere, is also awesome).

I think all of their album covers minus three of them are amazing, and the rest I still like. I also prefer the EU special edition version of the Arche cover to the one we have, my fav cover by the band.

Honestly, I think my #1 would have to go to VULGAR, just based on how dark and ambiguous I think it is. Second fave would be DSS, as that feels clean and serene.

@Calc My Japanese Deluxe Edition Of Arche came w/a poster of the EU variant artwork. Having it framed and up on display in my room on and off through the years, I prefer that version too.
