That's why we have live versions of them mate ;)

Mode Vulgar and Kisou have been great examples of that.

I honestly haven't dug into those live versions yet! What song should I start with?

Basically anything from Mode of Vulgar and Kisou.

For older shows, Blitz 5Days is an essential one and my favourite pre-Uroboros live, plus Tour04 and Rettou Gekishin Angya 5Ugly Kingdom.

This is a good example of an older album killing it in the modern day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIDAdWOJveI

And a performance from Blitz 5 Days: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxCRASiGG1Y

Thanks guys, I appreciate the advice! Checking some of this stuff right now. It's funny how Uroborous has returned to being my fav of the big 3 and while I think Arche has more standout tracks, I'm starting to feel as if DSS is a better album on the whole as there are less weaker tracks. I don't care for Chain Repulsion and The Inferno much. Even Cause of Fickleness and Sustain the Untruth aren't on par with the rest of the record. Not saying they're bad songs. I'll throw them on every once in awhile, but they're sort of skippable.

I really like all those tracks but I can see why people don't care for Inferno. Cause/Chain are a bad ass nod to the Vulgar/Withering days whilst fitting their modern day sound. Sustain absolutely rules, mainly on the single though since on the album it sound kinda squashed in comparsion.

Sustain's Chorus is dope and once I've passed the first chorus I don't really think about the things I dislike about it. Cause of Fickleness has some really cool parts and is the same as Sustain. Inferno is really really really meh for me. The one breakdown sounds dope but I dunno, there's just no versatility in the song I guess. Chain is just really really really meh to me as well. But these tracks imo don't stand up in comparison to the rest. The highlights of this album are REALLY high and that's why I like it so much. DSS doesn't have nearly as many standouts imo but there's not a single song on there I think is meh. Uro is perfect front back.

"Uro is perfect front back."

Not with Hydra 666 and BUGABOO RESPIRA on it lol. My fav Dir is Unraveling because I'm weird, ah well. As for Inferno the main place which it became 5/5 material was Day 2 Arche Budokan, such a perfect punch after Revelation and everyone had even more energy than Day 1.

Ahhh yeah, I haven't seen that and I also take the live vids as a separate experience. Songs I don't even like on the album I end up enjoying live renditions of haha.

What's Hydra 666 and Bugaboo Respira? The version I have has neither of those things unless Bugaboo Respira is the same as Bugaboo. The Unraveling is dope tho I won't argue. It also has less songs though. If Arche had even just 12 songs it'd be perfect front to back for me too lmao.

...are you telling me you've never listened to the Uroboros remaster o.0?

The Unraveling is the only album by them which I love every song on record. Note it's only my fav if it's the deluxe edition, so I can have Macabre as the final track.

The extra tracks on the expanded edition managed to grow on me a while ago, so I feel they work in the grand scheme of things.

You need to hear that version, since it's been remastered by the person who mixed all their post-Uroboros material.

Yeah it's much better than the orginial. The 2 addictions fit into the album in terms of pacing really well and it makes Bugaboo much better however they're a drop in quality.

Yeah dude you seriously need to get on the remaster. After it you'll never touch the original again.

Last three albums are all hype from start to finish for me. There's a few moments that I don't like as much as the rest (like Akatsuki's chorus or the drumming in some parts of Inferno), but every song is at least very good. Best three album stretch in history imo. The Unravelling is also amazing but I'm not keen on its production, the bass drowns everything out. Still awesome as a whole.

And yeah, LeadFeather, check out the Uroboros remaster, it's like listening to a whole different album

I like it mixed that high for the added grit, plus the other instruments still sound fine on my end; "Macabre" remake is such a perfect showcase of every member.

Yeah I hear the other instruments perfectly, all because the bass is at the front doesn't mean the other members contributions are muted.

Eh, I think it sounds unbalanced most of all. Of course you can make out the other instruments, but they're all drenched in bass soup. It's very evident in Kasumi's chorus ... I mean, it doesn't make it unlistenable, just exhausting to listen to from front to back

Yeah I don't hear that either. In this band, the bass can't be high enough lol
