Idk why but Dramamine just has this overwhelming sad feeling to it, despite being such a jam. I can't place it, though. It sounds like, just bittersweet as fuck. Those guitars. Have a kind of intoxicating youthful quality to them, too.
I guess with the band traveling around in a shitty van across the country at this time and them being a new band for the most part, it makes sense, the vibe of this record. But theres this weird sort of 'I'm a dumb kid in university, hopeful but also a bit lost' vibe to it. Could just be me projecting since I listened to a lot of MM during my university years.
But I felt almost like I was at the same point in life as Isaac was on this record due to age, etc. That's also true for TLCW. Both have the youthful exuburance but also the crazy sadness and ''I'm lost in life'' feeling to them.
