do you actually have anything to back this up? kendrick's early stuff was very obviously
influenced
by lil wayne's style, not "underground LA artists.
you might try listening to who im digging,my avatar, the guy I pointed out at the comment at the top of
this page and the comments after the post you quoted me on. That undeground guy name ElLAy Khule

This reviewer seems like he has some personal vendetta against Logic, and the reviewer has resorted to unprofessional epithets just to gain attention and boost his web traffic. See e.g., author calling Logic a "pussy." Just because Kendrick has a similar story to tell, does this mean that Logic can't ALSO tell his story?
Does Logic telling his very personal story of "ris[ing] from that dark place of violence and becoming a positive person" really make Logic a "stylistic counterfeit?" No, it doesn't. C'mon, every artist has influences that they incorporate into their work. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I believe Under Pressure is a great album and this review is needlessly harsh.

this is the worst review this guy has written by far but im still glad he put this out there to at least mention how bad biting has gotten today in hip hop

Logic provided us with a solid album. It might sound like a Kendrick knockoff to you, but take a LISTEN to the tracks. Honestly, he has talent and skill here in his rhymes. That sample by Bill Withers with the drums, which was in "good kid, m.A.A.d city," also appears on this album in "Metropolis" and "Under Pressure." People just assume from there that it's a Kendrick knockoff but that sample has been used before, it's nothing new... just go back and rethink the album over. I support this guy all the way, he came this far and he's finally gotten into the spotlight.
Keep doing your thing, Logic.

This is the review you get when you never heard of logic until he became mainstream. With that it should be taken with a grain of salt.

this is a very ignorant review. To say that logic copied kendrick lamar is just stupid. Look just because someone wants to have their debut album talk about where they come from and what they went through as a kid, they are all the sudden copying kendrick lamar? Now i am a huge kendrick fan and appreciate his music. But y'all obviously are dick riding him to the max at this point. Logic does use samples form sing about me on metropolis, but that doesn't mean he's trying to be like kendrick. He is influenced by him. Also Nikki Stands for nicotine!!! its not a girl. so you must have listened to the whole album or else you would have known that. And is kendrick the only rapper that can talk from two different perspectives? no he isn't logic did it and he killed it! now if someone like young thug tried to do it, it would be embarrassing, but logic is a real lyricist. To say he isn't is ignorant cause just listen to his rhyme schemes and his flow. It is nothing like kendricks at all. Logic isn't very well known in the rap game just like kendrick was before he dropped mad city. So he wanted to let people know where was he was coming from. Just like a lot of other rappers and lyricists have done in their day. You obviously haven't liked logic from the start and you were looking for anything and everything to call this album bad. you are nothing but a critic who's hating on a young man on his grind. Any similarities you see in this album with kendricks album you are going to say that logic swagger jacked him which is just stupid. its not disrespectful to the game one bit. If anything he is paying homage to hip hop and rap in general.

It begins anew.
I'll throw in my 2 cents since I don't think I have yet: it's a good album and I don't care about biting. If we all cared about biting then there would be no music.
