nah, it's a solid live record. probably the weakest of the three (the ziggy farewell concert album, stage, and david live), but it documents the first half of the Diamond Dogs tour where he had the set inspired by 1984, and was before he went all out soul, and included stuff from Young Americans in the set (which was Footstompin' (a cover song, the riff was the inspiration to Fame), Win (only done once), Can You Hear Me, and Young Americans). He also did John, I'm only Dancing (Again) live around that time.

John I'm Only Dancing rules hard but I'm not too hot on (Again), it goes for like four minutes too long

Zak predictably giving exactly the response they were hoping for in pissing off all the 70s purists :D Get that tunnel vision checked dude or you'll run into a wall soon enough

@Fripp Does seem like a weird selection of choices compared to the usual of Starman, Space Oddity and the like, but still. Hell of a jam that one, wish it'd taken Hang On To Yourself's place.

really, i'm fine with it not being on the album. Hang On To Yourself was a better track. Ziggy should've been longer imo. Add Sweet Head, Velvet Goldmine and All the Young Dudes and it's even better.

Nah, its simple case of lack of respect.
Rowbro where's your endless river review? The anticipation I've held for that is greater than held for the actual album.

Hang On To Yourself is boring as all hell, one of my least favourite Bowie tracks and such an obvious low point on an album like Ziggy. Sweet Head rocks like fuck, so much harder

The Flips are one of the few modern bands with the restless creativity that made all these 'classics' in the first place zak my man. They're not obligated to play by the rules just because of the ideology that you shouldn't tamper with the classics, because they do whatever the fuck they want to

"Rowbro where's your endless river review? The anticipation I've held for that is greater than held for the actual album."

I don't imagine you had much in the way of anticipation for the album anyway, but yeah. The review's gonna be relentless emotional self-pitying shite anyway, and it should be up within the week!

Bottle it, call it '30s Sal and the acoustic strokers and you'll have your album of the decade bro.
