New Ulver sounds literally identical to new Cannibal Corpse

First 3 tracks are still absolutely amazing. After that ... I don't know. It just seems to lose its way. Not to speak of how cringy Dead City Centres is.

Last song is very cool again though. Returning to this, I once more realize how much that one sounds like what they did on their latest album.

Nowhere/Catastrophe really doesn’t sound that much like their new album to me. Regardless it’s ten times better than anything on the new one.

The cheesy parts of this are so great tho, it's shlocky sci-fi/future noir goodness, especially Dead City Centres. The jazz section is excellent too. The only part of the track that doesn't really do it for me is the dog whistles.

never came off as cheesy to me thankfully. the narration of dead city centers into catalept, is so god damn cool, man, always reminds me of courage the cowardly dog for some reason. total creepy, dissociated, alien atmosphere, with overwhelming charisma

i really feel that ulver is one of the few, if not only group i can think of, that can pull something like perdition city off, and end up making a masterpiece with it

i'm surprised it's so high actually, it's such a weird album

but then i guess it's only familiar to people who are probably already going to like it

but if you gave this album to 100 random people on the street, i'd be surprised if the average was anywhere near 4.1/5

This. 110% this. Nowhere/Catastrophe is one of their best songs. Assassination in general is mad overrated
