This was the first album I listened to by them. I liked it, I just couldn't help but feel slightly let down given the hype around these parts.

They had like no time at all to record this album.

Well that makes it all the more impressive, but the end result is still what it is.

Anyway, do you think I'd enjoy their prior material more?

It's good, but pretty much how I feel about everything on this album still applies. I think it's her voice
and the classical style...just not epic enough for me I guess haha.

Good that means I should love this new album. I'd rather have it this way for my benefit. :-)

Haha I'm glad too. My personal preferences just are what they are.

Can't criticize personal preferences, her voice definitely hits it for me but it's also the understated chamber feel with the blend of classical and folk that I like. Maybe you are saying you prefer it where a group let go a bit more and are bolder, I can understand that.

It's all very elegant though - and I always give albums a chance to grow!

Listening to this one atm and it's pretty sweet. I kinda understand what Sowing's trying to say. There aren't many crescendos, at least in the first 6 songs that I've listened but this is the band's style of music from what I understand. Dunno why but I get a The Gathering (last albums with Anneke) feeling as well.

Marjana was talking about getting help spreading word of iamthemorning and I commented saying we love her at sputnik and she replied n said they've read 2 sputnik reviews on their albums and they are very flattered by the love.

Finally got round to listen to this and it wasn't as good as I'd hoped, sadly.

I'm still happy I contributed to the fundraising. Yet to receive my copy but I have to be honest - the first one had more passion, memorable lyrics/hooks. This one, well.. It's more proggy, great sound and production.. Few memorable tracks.
