"Maybe this is just a self-fulfilling prophecy where reading that Pat O’Brien (ex-Nevermore) wrote a majority of the songs has caused me to hear thrashy riffs and solos in just about every song."
CC has always had strong thrash influences.
Excellent review, need to check this asap.

"CC has always had strong thrash influences"
agreed, their first album is very thrashy

It always amuses me to imagine you writing reviews whilst doing a 4G inverted dive in your fighter jet, Willie.

Really, really enjoy reading your understanding of this band Willie. Some people would just slag this off as just another
CC album but you seem to make the "reliable" sound vital and interesting. ha ha. People like you? I can't tell how much of this is sarcasm ;)

agreed, their first album is very thrashy Admittedly, I am only vaguely familiar with the Chris Barnes era because I'm not a fan of his vocals. I didn't hear a lot of thrash in the last three albums. I hear a lot here.
It always amuses me to imagine you writing reviews whilst doing a 4G inverted dive in your fighter jet, Willie. its amazing how inspirational G-forces can be. ;)

I definitely hear Nevermore in some of the solos and riffs. I didn't want to oversale it in the review but it's there.
wait willie is an officer? orrr am i the only here who gets how the military works.
no dig at irving btw, willie will def understand. I'm an F-22 instructor. Good gig. Some free time. Not nearly as much as
there was during my six years at Lockheed, though.
