I've come around to some of the longer cuts on The Seer



I appreciate the conciseness of the stuff on here, but I appreciate the lengths they were willing to go with The Seer.

This album feels a bit more consistent, but the Seer has much higher highs imo and an overall more cohesive theme/atmosphere.

It helps a lot whenever I listen to The Seer, I go by the vinyl configuration, which ends with The Seer and The Seer Returns, which I feel is a slightly better ending than The Apostate, although that's a great closer as well.

The entirety of The Seer disc 2 is 10/10. Song for a Warrior is just so perfectly placed within the album and Apostate is just an awesome closer, it's got the insane energy of TBK mixed with the atmosphere of the Seer. A Piece of the Sky is easily top 3 Swans, up there with Helpless Child and live Blood Promise (listen to this off Swans are Dead if you haven't heard it already). Avatar is a fucking hypnotic banger too

wish i could agree with you because i do love the front half of the record. will have to revisit, also yeah that version of Blood Promise is god (its criminal you don't have Beautiful Child to your top 3 tho)

Bring the sun is way too long and tinnitus-inducing. I enjoy this album a decent bit, but the seer is prob better. Overall my favourite is white light
