Unholy Confessions was quite big. It was the riff everyone was learning once they discovered distortion at the time

"and with the way things are going in the industry it's probably unlikely a metal band ever goes on a commercial run like that ever again"

Wouldn't say that. Things are cyclical, right now it's in for popular girls to wear old metal band t's, but who knows if that might actually turn into listening to heavier music in the next 20, 30, 40 years?

We'll all be old by then but anything's possible.

Finn McKenty made a pretty brilliant video where he pinpoints the Unholy Confessions music video as what put the band on the trajectory that got them to where they are today. They basically found all these teenagers with deathbat tattoos and huge homemade A7X flags on their walls and threw them in the video, filmed a live performance of the song in their hometown where the crowd was insane. Made the band seem way larger than they really were and made a lot of people check them out out of FOMO.

Memba 2009-2011 when everybody just decided to collectively listen to dubstep?

Weird shit happens.

Unholy Confessions was the only thing I heard from this before getting the album and I don't really remember hearing any of the rest of the songs outside of listening to the CD, but that was just my experience

Not much for sports games so wouldn't have played NHL. Maybe if they would have made it on a Tony Hawk game. Looks like Ch4 was also on Madden and Nascar 04 games, too

Tis true, I def remember learning how to play Confessions on guitar and thinking the harmonized riffing was so cool, ha
