Each to their own but this clearly was never supposed to be a power metal album or anything like their prvious stuff.
Also i disgaree that you call this cheesy. This album in particular has the fewest amounts of cheesy, upbeat chorus' in their discog so I fail to see how it comes across that way to you. If you mean it was a little dramatic, then sure but it's eccentricity that makes it good!

I agree. While I wouldn't say I'm a fan of the album overall, it does have less cheddar than its predecessors, despite all the ballads and other slow tracks.

I wouldn't necessarily call myself a fanboy, but I really dig this album, and everything except Stones Grow Her Name has enough of the soul of SA to get what I enjoy form them out of it. This one is where I really started to notice them going out there for new aspects/experimentation to their sound, and I think they did pretty well here.
