is this more interesting than a love supreme? because although i liked a love supreme a lot i also found it too controlled/rigid/purposefully unadventurous.

this is infinitely less structured that love supreme, and tad bit better imo

This has a completely different approach to that of A Love Supreme and is anything but "controlled/rigid/purposefully unadventurous".

also kinda surprised this is a 2 for u. it just seems very proto-music-you-typically-love. tho i would also listen to cecil or ornette over his, more often than not

I listened to about half of this last night. I didn't actually think it was all that grating, but I didn't particularly love it either.

i think what helps me with this a bit more is just considering where it comes from. it feels like an emotional release, stemming from social and political vexation. very liberated, and coming from a musician who had every tool at is disposal to create music that sounded "objectively" beautiful, this approach just interests me.

i'm pretty sure Ethos mentioned something similar to that in his spiel a few pages back... i don't remember

tbh I really do not like my review for this, and want to re-submit at some point
