As far as first reviews go, this is easily one of the best I've read. I love/agree so hard with your intro paragraph. As for the rest, you give some pretty vivid descriptions. Some advice I would give is not to over describe (something I used to be guilty of). Sometimes you're using two or three adjectives to describe a single action, and while sometimes it works, sometimes it makes the writing feel cluttered. Otherwise, this is a great read. And easy pos.
