Yeah that's probably the best song or one of them, IMO. But it's worth checking out the whole thing, I think it all sounds even more inspiring and gorgeous as a whole.

And I get what you're saying now. I agree, most works of the "atmospheric indie" nature are warm and personal. This has moments like that (namely "In The Morning", but there's others as well), but the majority is rooted in that distant feeling. I just happen to relate well to the distant feeling, which makes it emotionally relevant to me.

I'd wager a month is pretty recent.

True but they usually feature reviews within a week of it's release. I guess there are exceptions.

Not sure if you saw what I said Toondude, but yeah it was an exception. I've seen releases between 4-6 weeks old get featured, but only few and far between. Usually a staff review too or a special user request where the mods were having a slow week release-wise.

Yeah I thought it was funny that someone criticized the word cathartic and was like I'm so tired of hearing that word...it's probably the first time I've used that word in like 15-20 reviews.

And lush just sums up about half of this record perfectly.

idk, a lot of this bored the hell out of me and didn't sound very groundbreaking

All I can say is to each his own. I think this is amazing. I'd take it any day over most derivative alt rock you find these days.

This is pretty sweet so far. It's a very chill, soothing listen and yea I do get a Sigur Ros vibe from it at times.

I've been following this guy for ages, and I absolutely love his debut... I don't know how I never listened to this until now. Truly beautiful so far.

How does one randomly relocate to Iceland like that? I've been wanting to do that myself for quite awhile... or southern Chile, that place looks nice too.

Random relocation does sound fun. If I had money I'd try it.
