I like Keith's vocals overall though he certainly can hit some screechy highs and I think musically it sounds good. I suppose some of the stories aren't very important like 'Stay Divided' but it sounds nice like a campfire tale still. Others like 'If it's Bad News it can wait' I think are powerful. I was apart of this era and found myself in the earliest days somehow. Gosh how did that happen now. I uploaded an American Football song to youtube in early 2009 and then it was from there I found early Empire! Empire! and it just took off I guess. I generally liked this album. It was a long time coming though and the band ended after this ( Keith I found out joined a band called Parting). He also put out a solo album that I liked (Mt. Oriander).
So in summary, was it better than "to move forward" probably not though I felt that album actually could have shaved a couple songs and been stronger. I thought this was an enjoyable album and never overstayed its welcome.
