Hmm I mean since you never liked this band to begin with, I don't find this review particularly insightful.

I'm not totally sure how I feel about this album yet. Definitely hasn't hit me as hard as WITTMF, but that doesn't mean it's bad. My two main complaints are that it can be a bit monotonous, and the lyrical style is less interesting and engaging than what Keith's done in the past.

"It's like the entire record is a parody of emo as whole"

I got this impression too.

Even though i'm pretty disappointed by this record in general, the last track is pretty great

Never liked this band..he sounds like he's crying through every verse and chorus lacking any memorable melodies. Simple arpeggios that also feel tired and meaningless. American Football (Mike Kinsella) is the only artist(s) that can create such memorable arpeggios full of rich melody. Emo bands need to hop on this style

I agree with this review and the disclaimer. I like this band, make no mistake. But the quality doesn't come close to that of my 90's emo darlings.

what it takes to move forward is a masterpiece and one of my favorite albums of all time but goddamn this album is disappointing, the lyrics took a massive step down which was probably my favorite part of this band.

like musically it's fine (not as good as WITTMF or either of their two real EPs but still really good) but the lyrics are actually kind of cringeworthy in places which sucks because keith was easily in my top 5 favorite lyricists before this. but really this is basically like an old man rambling about awkwardly specific and therefore largely unrelatable experiences.
