Oh I like them. Moon and Antarctica and The Lonesome Crowded West and Good News For People are all really great! hmm well in that case I still don't understand how People Live Here is trying to be like that. I just hear an acoustic guitar song with vocals nothing out of the normal from the last 50 years

yeah those two and sufferer are essential. sufferer is easily their best "poppier" album and rpm is basically the same as unraveling except a lil better in every way

Halfway There kicks so much ass

The Unraveling has a few good tracks, but its terribly unfocused and is dated by... well any terms now and days. Also that Eco Terrorist track sounds like something that wouldve been greatly neglected by listeners if it found its way onto RPM or Unraveling.
Also I wouldnt call Modest Mouse the definition of indie sound. Then again, I think it's a bullshit umbrella term that doesn't cover the majority of bands labeled as "indie" so I don't use it anyways.

Eco Terrorist is a good song that tries too hard to bring that nostalgia.

Yep. As far as 'intense' RA songs go, it's nowhere near their best.

umm yea it's a way too broad genre to really have a genre-defining band but i think modest mouse covers up well enough what indie rock is all about to be thrown as the first band if someone asks you what is indie rock

eco terrorist is probably the worst song on here tbh, it's cool they tried to do that style again but it really didn't work

When I heard Eco Terrorist I honestly thought of Sufferer and the Witness though not Revs or Unraveling
