I know I'm screwing with you. I really enjoy this. Sitting around a 4 right now (almost through my first listen).

Cool

I agree with what fish said, this could use more energy/burst

But for an album that never really breaks away from its plodding pace, it's practically perfect

I totally agree with fish. I feel like there are so many moments on the album where the pace just seems like its begging to burst into something huge, but it never does. It actually makes for a really cool pent-up and tense feeling throughout the record. Like a person with so much to say, with their mind racing, but nothing comes out of their mouth.

just needs to challenge you as a listener a bit more

Well I think that's just it, it challenges you too much

It builds to a perfect energy release point but then backs off...

lots of potential here though. the moods and melodies are nice, they're just missing something

this article describes what i'm trying to say better than i can

I like the way you describe music, specific and clear but also very carefully worded and descriptive

I like his voice. his english accent comes through momentarily now and again and it gives the music a nice feel

If he learned how to scream he'd be Jesse Lacey

It's nothing like For Emma, I just used that to give readers an idea of the background

Its a lot more tense than For Emma but for whatever reason (his voice and the minimalist ideas and the album cover maybe) I think a bit about For Emma when I hear this.

It's really cool that this has gotten a warm reception here. I expected more people to get bored with its lack of uptempo pacing, but I'm glad everyone sees the beauty in it that I do.

Showed it to a good friend of mine and he said he got a bit bored with it. I think being on sputnik, we are all a bit prone to searching a little deeper than the normal person for the beauty in music if someone else in the community holds it in high regard. Taken at face value, I could easily see this getting boring.

Thanks for reviewing this and bringing it to my attention. Great album.

First time I listened to Everything's a System I never wanted it to end.

This sweet. Spanish Archer is fantastic, as is the artwork.
