Sounds cool and all, but a black metal band doing an ambient album comes off as a little bit gimmicky to me. Ambient albums are the kind of album where I'd rather just stick with the ones I know are great, because not-so-great ambient albums are fucking BORING

Damn, I think this might be your best review to date. You really went deep with this one and I totally agree with almost everything you said

Thanks Karl, I agree as I felt really good about how this turned out. Also agreed about Burzum, his last few albums have been mediocre at best and awful at worst.

"Gonna get this out of the way again..... FUCK VARG AND HIS RETARDED ATTEMPT AT AMBIENCE ON The Ways of Yore. THIS IS HOW YOU DO BM AMBIENCE DAMMIT!"

Damn dude. Varg's ambient is usually awful but Yore wasn't that bad at all.

Great album. Great review. I was surprised since most these black-metal-goes-ambient albums are pure lo-fi crap.

YES SIR!!!

Great album. Great review. I was surprised since most these black-metal-goes-ambient albums are pure lo-fi crap.

Surprised no one has name-dropped Vangelis or Tangerine Dream for that matter.
