never said it didnt sound great, it does, just said it reminded me of many classic rock album I listen to, relax everybody

maybe I got sick of it because when it came out, that whole summer I spent traveling aroungd the country playing baseball, and that was all I heard everywhere, but hotel rooms, locker room and my roommate had to go to sleep with November rain on repeat, It is a good song but almost vomit when I hear it now

'5 does its job as a mainstream money grabber , but that does not mean that it is good, it is good but it is not a Metallica album, pick any 70s rock album, and package it as The Black album and it would be the same response'

you sound all sorts of ridiculous here

''5 does its job as a mainstream money grabber"

I wouldn't say the black album was just a contrived attempt to cash in. with justice they took what they had been doing as far as they could (a little too far imo) and they needed a change in direction. I mean it's not like they were struggling for cash at the time.

it does sound like alot of 70's albums guys come on, maybe I think of 5's as somehow doing something different, and I agreed with Monos, it did do what they set out to do, not to my liking though, still good, but I already heard that album many times before, just thought it was a let down from the previous 4, still a 4 for me though

you guys lost me completely on the black album sounding like 70's rock albums.....im with spiritcrusher on this one, analog album indeed, but also has a bit of a polished sound done right....back in black is another similar comparison

my ears may also be shot

This one sounds way too damn nice to be a production job generalized from the 70's.

Back In Black is a good comparison, that also sounds fantastic, but it depends who we're talking about.

I need some core examples analog or not! Ha-ha

dudes, 70's production is great, ever listen to a yes album, it has sweetening where it needs to be not everywhere, watch the doc Soundcity, that will prove my point, once computers got involved it started to all sound generic
