my musical journey also started with coldplay around like 6 years old or something maybe lmao. seeing them live was a formative experience for me

also i guess this is sort of a 'you had to be there' album? because all i'm hearing is a pretty decent rock album, but i'm not really hearing the classic status

how fuckin tragic is it that the US version of this album replaces the best song with the worst song

probably, the immense amounts of hype probably don't help in retrospect. i feel like this one isn't as beloved as it used to be

trouble with its classic status is that the wave it helped inspire is not looked upon too fondly in retrospect

one of those 'for better or for worse' things. i increasingly count myself in the 'for worse' camp, but still enjoy rinsing this every now and then

There’s a funny show of them in 2000 at Arlene’s grocery, which is still around, on youtube

Iconic album! Absolutely oozing with nostalgia from start to finish.

Did have it at a 4.5 but I can't get over the repetitive nature of this album. I feel like their later material is far more exciting and adventurous, which gives them more room to grow. This album bangs but it does wear a little thin on repeat listens.
