Listening to this for the first time and there are some solid tunes here but it’s held back by really lifeless production and performances. Makes me afraid to revisit Room On Fire because I used to really love that album...

Is that a PAWG on the cover bloc? (not sure it qualifies)

Seriously though, this sounds like somebody programmed a computer to sound like a rock band.

"Is that a PAWG on the cover bloc? (not sure it qualifies)"

Good question, and it's something I ask myself every time I look at the cover. I'd need to see the woman's entire body to make that call in order to see how it stacks up in proportion to her ass. But from the info the cover gives me, I would say no.

"Seriously though, this sounds like somebody programmed a computer to sound like a rock band."

I know what you mean. But if you read briefly on the recording process for this album, you'll see that it was recorded in a genuinely lo-fi method. I think it adds a lot of charm to the overall album.

I agree, from the visual information provided my assumption would be no, yet there's a possibility this hypothesis could be proven inaccurate, once presented with the 'bigger picture'.

Hard To Explain is a great tune.

After some more spins I am really enjoying this, it’s not classic tier but it is very consistent with pretty much every track being 3.5-4/5 quality.

agreed boney, it gets some hyperbolic praise but it is consistently good - great throughout. Hard to Explain is the best here without doubt.

This is damn catchy, almost every song sounds like a rocking single, which is equal parts good (for content) & bad (for overall flow/variety). In fact my only real criticism is the lack of variety, there's a lot of re-used ideas here & the vox hardly change throughout the entire runtime.

Enjoyed it anyway, will no doubt play it again when my mood dictates.

I was hoping to summon bloc. Random question: have you heard any Gang Gang Dance, particularly ‘Eye Contact’? Think you might dig.

Heard the band name before and thought it was stupid so I avoided them lol. But for you, I will check it out. Seems to be a well liked album.

I just want someone to discuss it with, last time I bumped it there wasn’t any takers. Alterior motives. Seriously though, I don’t see why you wouldn’t like it.

Ahhh haha say no more my man. But yeah I just heard a quick preview of it and apart from the kinda annoying vocals, it sounded fun as hell.
