"im more into their first album/ep. sounds silly but stereotypical postrock really sits well with me. with their second album they became a lot more dynamic. which is objectively great but doesnt sit with me quite the same. i will write peace... is their best song because of that soaring guitar line at the end."
QFT. I really love that EP.

really one of the best post-rock bands going
not as good as their last imo but it's still really, really solid and enjoyable and the instrumentation is far tighter which is awesome to see
guys have been striking gold since their first ep - what we cannot speak of, must be passed over in silence might be one of the finest post-rock songs ever
|
| |
wait what
did this release get dropped out of nowhere, or was there just like no hype for it?

' I don't think I'm alone in saying that post-rock as a genre seems to have reached a standstill in its characteristic sonic exploration.'

if i may say so as well this album isn't /much/ different from stereotypical post-rock
and honestly who cares if it does, you could argue the same thing about any genre of music, post-rock is just more niche and specific
|
| |
agreed, but its pushing the boundaries in terms of the amount of energy most stereotypical post-rock bands are capable of. beware
of safety are one of those "heavier" postrock bands and theyre bringing out a new one this year. im worried they might not be able to
keep up with the times. depsite everyone saying the genre is stale, i think it has notably progressed in the past few years, and
sleepmakeswaves are at the forefront of that resurgence. /hyperbole

@JS19 if you read the opening paragraph, you'd have noticed that, in context, I referenced how overused "post-rock is stale" is and explained that it's a cliche for a reason. I didn't just blindly use words like "overdone" and "stale" as you imply.

This album has made me love "...and So We Destroyed Everything" even more. Got my pozible package in the mail of the signed copy and the poster, and one of the guys' signature is just two horizontal lines with a dot in between them, lol
