Idk how you can call yourself an audiophile and in any way tolerate the mixing the initial release got. The members have even admitted to botching the initial release, with experimental editing techniques that they didn't quite comprehend as well as just plain bad edits. These songs were produced piece-meal, and it certainly shows in their first master. The remix rectifies these significant issues, in just about every way.

i never said that i thought the original mix was good, we all know it is one of their worst.....this remix certainly has some highlights but also has many flaws....there is a degree of too much separation between instruments and there are many instances of geddy's vocals sound like he is singing through a megaphone. i enjoyed this immensely upon release but then slowly started reverting back to the original mix in which i now find superior overall. you mention 'audiophile', sounds even worse on a high end unit.
