I should listen to this. Only other antlers I know is their Undersea EP. That was smooth and modern and sweet and subdued, but it doesn’t hold a candle to the dynamics of sound and difficult themes of Hospice.

How does Undersea compare to Burst Apart and Familiars? Is it indicative of the musical direction they were on, or is it more of a side project?
|
| |
This album is a direct expansion of Undersea

I like the atmosphere on Undersea fine but man I get tired of one line being repeated over and over on every damn song

Yet you like the new song?

Undersea can be repetitive but there’s a payoff, like how he keeps repeating “closer to trawl but much much further” on Crest but then just belts it out at the end and it’s awesome

Genuinely curious, if you dislike them repeating the same lines, what do you like about the new one?
|

His vocal intonations get more D Y N A M I C as the songs progress yeah, but I agree with Rowan that even musically Undersea can be a bit too repetitive.

Do you all know what isn't repetitive at all, has the most alluring cosmic atmosphere, and showcases the full band at its best? In The Attic of the Universe.

Love that album. I think it's my profile picture on one of my old accounts. It has such a cool and unique atmosphere.
