Thanks Row I feel you on the love and fear shtick, I'm not completely sold on it either but it becomes easier to recognize during a hard breakup and I think it helps to illustrate an ongoing duality in the album too

"lack of diversity"

Didn't realize Broken Heart sounds just like Come Together or Electricity

This album has 2 types of songs, slow and spacey, and loud and choiry
I'm not saying that's bad, but you'd have to be crazy to think that's diverse

You have to be crazy to think there is a lack of diversity. I'm not saying it switches genres every song, but even the spacey songs don't sound like each other.

Album would have been better if it was like 45 mins or so, that's all I'm saying.

In Ars' world, lack of diversity means it isn't Ween or Mr. Bungle

Not at all, Mellon Collie is almost two hours and has plenty of diversity
Hiatus Kaiyote's Choose Your Weapon is another great example of a long diverse album that works well

See I'm usually against long albums, like Swans would be so much better to me if their albums didn't drag on, but this album features so many great melodies and a great contrast between chaos and punctilious instrumentation that it works.

Honestly I don't see what's so special about this album though
Like I enjoyed it the 2 times I listened to it (enough for a 3-4/5,) but it just seems like an amalgamation of cliches, without giving the impression that it established any of the cliches.
Spacey moody tracks, big epic rockers, sad lyrics about wanting to be loved, high produced strings and trumpets, I get kind of bored, there's no curveballs... like by track 4 the album feels like Spiritualized has shown you the majority of it's tricks already.
