"pretty stale year for hip hop."

Better than 2013 tho

Disagree hard. Yeezus, Danny Brown, Asap Rocky, Earl Sweat, Run the Jewels, and Chance were some solid projects last year.

Yeezus was good production-wise but the lyrics were laughable to say the least,

and that Chance album was just...meh

Haven't heard A$AP because I doubt I'll like his stuff,

I agree hard on Run the Jewels/Old though

@Choccy I don't really consider Death Grips "hip-hop" at least not in a conventional sense but I do enjoy the hell out of them.

@Shark Yeah, Yeezus' lyrics were laughable indeed but that's actually part of why I liked it so much (besides the stellar production that comes with any Kanye related project).

And to a degree, I agree that Acid Rap was meh but it had a handful of pretty good tracks.

There were a lot more albums I liked this year however, like:

Busdriver, Sage Francis, Black Ink, Run the Jewels, Antwon, Clipping(of course), Open Mike Eagle, Mick Jenkins, Deniro Farrar, Sadistik, and Big KRIT

Some tracks on this are 5/5 tracks, Story 2, Body and Blood. Others are great like the intro, but some are just too awful and stereotypical. Body and Blood has some pretty standard lyrics, but they end up telling a interesting story and the production is just phenomenal. Story 2 is the best song of 2014

I find that the hooks become stale pretty quickly. This definitely has good songs, but I wish it were a bit more consistent.

Something They Don't Know though...

What a song

Something They Don't Know should have just been on here as it is one of the best Clipping tracks hands down.
