Thanks 24gadjet. I think it's a really solid album. Most of the tracks are great, they just don't do much for one another in the context of the album.

Digging: Rabor - ????????

The Weigh Down's chorus is probably the best part of this.

This is a fantastic review. Loved the bit about the vocalists switching like the tide.

Just a quick note, TAA has been referencing the ocean quite often since Severed Ties, but it isn't the physical ocean this time around.

It's the ocean of Joel's depression, anxiety, and near-death experiences that he's constantly trying not drown in. "It’s like there’s water in my lungs".

Thanks Betray! Yeah, I knew it was centred around Joel's struggles. Metaphorical or not though the Ocean is still part of the concept. Thanks for shedding some more light on it though, personally it always felt to me that it was balanced between the physical concept and the emotional one, especially when the band members were talking about how the concept tied in with Joel and this was apparently their most 'conceptual' album. It probably leans more heavily towards Joel though, message wise anyway.

Good album. Only problem I find is that the songs sound so much alike. Youngbloods was their masterpiece.

@norwich mad props for including a Severed Ties song on your top 10.

I'm currently working on ranking their whole discography by song soon enough here. It's not easy.
