Anberlin don't reinvent the wheel on 'Never Take Friendship Personal', they simply consolidate on their promising debut. The songs are better produced & written - as proven by the fantastic 7 minute closer - and while the lyrics are almost entirely based around relationships, they are perceptive & relatable enough to be unique. Amazingly, Stephen Christian's vocals have also improved, since he handles aggressive ('The Feel Good Drag'), poppy ('Time & Confusion') & gentle ('The Symphony of Blase) tracks in his stride. Tight, catchy & enjoyable, there isn't a bad track here with the exception of a short instrumental. Recommended Tracks: Paperthin Hymn, Dance Dance Christa Paffgen, A Day Late & (The Symphony of) Blase

I can't stand NS's version. Probably because i grew up loving the NTFP version.

New Surrender would be awesome if it didn't have Blame Me Blame Me and the remastered version of FGD.

^^^^ This. Also, replace one of those with Heavier Things Remain and the other with Said and Done.

"New Surrender would be awesome if it didn't have Blame Me Blame Me and the remastered version of FGD."

pretty much, younglife too. although i'm still adamant that the NS and NTFP versions of fGD are virtually the same song. i can imagine preferring one over the other, but hating one and loving the other? meh
