I think this album was the ideal next step in their career: going back to the more stripped down sound of their debut while keeping the electronic elements of their later works. This is not perfect, but its interesting approach makes it Coldplay's best work since Rush of Blood imo. Good review btw

Hmm haven't heard enough to know for sure but the singles haven't overwhelmed me - especially Magic. That sounds like a
cheesy 80s rock tune. But will give the album a chance since I like Coldplay.
