Yea i seriously don't understand the complaints about consistency. I wouldn't even say this is too long besides two tracks that should have ended a bit quicker

Consistently excellent

Love that section in 5/4 where everything gets quiet and then the beat comes back into the forefront. Reminds me of NIN's Closer for some reason.

Even my fawning 14 year-old self knew this album was a mixed bag when it first dropped, despite constant listening. Still, any LP that opens with 'Re-Hash', '5/4' and 'Tomorrow Comes Today' can't be less than a 3.5.
It was Danger Mouse who really kicked Gorillaz into orbit, IMO. I say that as a big Automator fan.

"Bruh what u even sayin... s/t is best gorillaz by a long stretch. DD is way more mixed bag than this imo"
completely agree
I also have a huge bias towards this album on account of it was essentially the record that got me into "alternative" music full-stop, and even without that fact I still love it so much on its own merits. Gorillaz never really made me feel the same way as they did here & the material surrounding this record again (tho Blur's Think Tank did a pretty good job of that!)

It depends on how I feel. Some days I like Platic Beach more, somedays I like DD more.
Plastic Beach hits harder tho.

I dunno, my biggest issue with DD is that it takes itself too seriously, or at least that's what danger mouse's production conveys to me.
Wish they left in some more 'silly' tracks like Rock It or Bill Murray to balance out the more bleak moments.

That's what Demon Days needed. Damon saying 'blah blah blah' a lot.

They're on D-Sides, bruh.

Lord, Sound Check vibes and slides hard. That violin riff during the song is ear candy coupled with Kid Koala's scratching and Damon through 2D's vocal delivery.
