I guess people may change their mind, be harsh, or just plain wrong sometimes. Her best album didn’t exist in 2007, to be fair (as much as I love Pawn also).

Nah, it’s definitely Bolt Cutters. That album had a huge impact on me.

i respect it, but in terms of pure enjoyment, "idler wheel" is easily my favorite of hers.

I’ll take Pawn for immediate enjoyment but I get it. FTBC is a bit sparse in certain aspects, not particularly melodic or obviously hooky, very percussive too, almost tribal in places. It feels powerful though, her voice shines. Great use of tension / atmosphere.
