There were queues to get in the shop for the midnight release, imagine that now haha.
That was one of the first shows I went to. Huge tour. Even though I was into the metal of the day, grunge was so massive and releasing good music. PJ, AIC and soundgarden resonated as did smashing pumpkins

this was a strange album at the time, I actually hold it in higher regard now tbh

I do really like this album but I can't get over some of the obvious filler, think I'd put this as my 4th favourite PJ

The good stuff is so good it's my favourite now...but you could improve it massively by removing the four worst tracks.
1. Last Exit
2. Black Circle
3. Not For You
4. Tremor Christ
5. Nothingman (5 star)
6. Whipping
7. Corduroy (5 star)
8. Satan's Bed
9. Betterman
10. Immortality (5 star)
That's a strong album, I guess 'Satan's Bed' could get chopped and replaced by a better song if one was around in that period

Satans Bed is a blinder
‘I shit and I stink, I'm real, join the club’
Meant a lot

Probably my least favourite here but I still dig it, not their most amazing chorus!, 'Betterman' is maybe a strange inclusion too but again I like it enough.
Those ten songs held up against 'Vs' or 'No Code' for me is no competition - these wipe the floor.
'Ten' is its own things and it's not far below this for me now, I went off it for a while but have listened to it loads the last 12 months.

Eddie Vedder singing 'I'll never suck Satan's Dick' will never fail to make me smile.
Doof - that album is an easy 4.5 I like it

'Eddie Vedder singing 'I'll never suck Satan's Dick' will never fail to make me smile.'
ha, yes that one's a humdinger.
I think overall this album is my favourite Vedder performance, prob goes a way to explain why it's my favourite PJ.

New album is solid as hell, definitely better than the last two or three.

'Best since Yield?'
Based off the first few listens it might well be imo. Not the highest bar to clear granted.

Yield is a 3.5 and their 5th best for me...and I'm feeling similar about the new one so far.
A lot better than Binaural and Riot Act. Backspacer had something about it, and I've never really got into the Avocado album but I know some people swear by that one.
So maybe the 6th best PJ.

Yeah that's fair I would have it 6th as well at the moment, although Yield is a 4.5 and their 3rd best imo, always been high on it.
