They've kept it for 3 full albums now. Maybe it's time for a change.

This is better than Challenger.

Hollow > Sleepwalking > Challenger > Unconditional

For me at least. I hate the dilemma of ranking great things though, because something's gotta be "the worst". Even though I thoroughly enjoy all four.

"Something about this album is just... different."

That's the thing though, they're HARDLY different in any way.

BMTH's new album is Sempiternal. There's a song on it called Sleepwalking though.

But yeah, I was referring to MMF's debut album Sleepwalking. I'm gonna assume you've never heard it and subsequently rec that you do so. It's amazing.

I'm just incredibly tired of every reviewer acting like the genre an album falls under makes up for its blandness. I definitely understand someone's enjoyability of this album placing at 3.5, even at 4.5, but objectively rating this at the same level of the average rating of DGD's Acceptance Speech (another recent Rise Records release) is a slight exaggeration.

I guess that one line really didn't sit well with a few of you guys. I wasn't trying to imply that because this is a metalcore album it's okay to be generic = 3.5. I really try to take the album for what it is by itself.

But, I rated 3.5 on the album because that's how enjoyable it is to me. Not as good as The Hollow which I have rated at 5. Or Challenger that I have at 4. But still good overall, so 3.5.

As far as it being rated the same as Acceptance Speech, that's just a problem which having such a small scale of 1.0-5.0. Over time, ratings are going to run together and not really make any sense. I almost like the word ranking better than the number.

This is 3.5, it's great.

Acceptance Speech is also GREAT to me.

Apologies for the confusion.

I dig the vocals in this but I'd still consider it their weakest effort to date. To me, even Challenger had more diversity. After listening, I didn't remember a single song. 3.0 because it's still above average, but disappointment coming from this band.

It is their weakest, that's for sure. The vox on this one are superb. A lot of people will say that

they're "overproduced", but they've probably also never seen MMF live, so.

I will give the band some credit, at least they say what they believe in their music, they could just make generic pseudo-inspirational garbage like so many "religious groups". On the musical side, its better than I expected given how every band I like has become boring and generic.

Idk man, the huge jump from non-Jesus lyrics to Jesus lyrics makes it seem like they're jumping on the bandwagon

They've always been there, even since The Hollow. Just not as obvious.

ahh i need to listen to this album just so i can give it a rating and move on with my life. Everytime I put on a song I just want to skip its THAT bad. Only considering listening out of respect for Sleepwalking
