What's so bad about the production on Ten?

Yeah production on ten is one of the worst things about it. That being said, it's still a solid 4.5 but also my least favorite of their first 3 albums.

Eddie's punk vocals and least-cheesy ballad singing is great

Absolutely buddy i love his vocals, he gets some unwarranted hate sometimes. His singing on this and vitalogy is superb man.

Rats is such an amazing tune, insanely underrated.
