Yeah, but DA are way more tight and "agile" for lack of a better word. And they do slightly melodic things in a way I don't think Portal really does. Even though they're both dissonant bands, the style of riffs is pretty disparate. The drumming and vocals are obviously all different too.

I could never get into this band... They have this swirling chaos sound that goes nowhere for me. Some interesting passages here and there and a bit of atmospheric value but nothing else.
Production doesn't help either... Anyway I promised I would give them another chance so maybe someday they will click with me.
