as a whole i'd say this does indeed separate itself from lorde but man sometimes this girl sounds exactly like lorde. when she does the lower, almost talking vocals it sounds just like lorde

@davey. Really? You prefer London Grammar? I think they are pretty mediocre tbh, only saved by their great vocalist from being straight out bad. Strong and the Kavinsky cover are the only two songs I would consider good, although I have to say Strong is a very very very good song.

Also I forgot to mention. Good review. It's nice to see you churning out the reviews on a regular basis again.

"Sounds more like Ellie Goulding than Lorde to me... very good album either way"

OMG, Ty & I agreeing on a release for the 1st time in over a year, so this must be good! And yeah, there's a fair bit of Ellie here - a bit of both LPs actually.

"separates itself from lorde pretty well imo good shit"

Agree. Difficult to not make the connections in a review though.

"when she does the lower, almost talking vocals it sounds just like lorde"

Mostly. I do think that she (Georgia) can still improve her range. That's why I prefer Hannah from London Grammar the best, as her range is phenomenal.

"Really? You prefer London Grammar?"

Yeah, it's the mainstream-leaning side of me, I guess. They're probably the most accessible of the lot.

"the beginning of the streamed song reminded me of Tether by Chvrches"

That's the thing; these guys seem a bit of all the bands I've mentioned, but sound original enough on their own. They could still add a bit more of themselves via innovation, but you have to consider they released their 1st song all of 5 months ago!!!

Holy $hit Ty (to differentiate Thomas'), we're back. You forgot Black Veil Brides from the list though. :-)

Well, then, Tommy, your thoughts on this will be interesting.

Is that a way of saying this won't be anywhere near as popular as Lorde?
