Also, reaching to you guys about some stuff I've been wandering for some years now:
How do you guys interpret the lyrics of the album title? i.e.
'You've been drinking quietly tonight,
Tryna keep the edge off the dark, dark bright'
Honestly haven't got a clue.

I’ve always thought that he meant the dark is so much brighter. Just drinking to fill the void. Kinda goes with the album title too cause it’s as if you’re drowning in water, or alcohol if you will.

We can do it, but it's going to take some teamwork and common understanding to stop commenting in this thread until the new record is out. We don't have many comments to spare!

Finally was able to have a listen to this where it really hit me and I got the hype! My issue is the first five minutes are sooo good, it raises my expectations so high for the rest of it, which is great, but doesn’t quite hit those expectations.
The singer’s voice is amazing and I really wish they would let him let loose more. It seems like such a tease to know that voice is there, but to only hear it in bits and spurts.

And Our Hearts Did Beat/River were the most immediately satisfying. South Street and Youngblood followed for me. It took a little while for the rest to sink in as hard as it did but now that we're at that point, this is my favorite album of all time

And I could easily see that growth happening for me. I had tried to get into this for a while, and last night it really, really clicked. I could see the rest of the album following soon, especially if I have more listens like I did last night.

Really not sure if we should crave for a new album. They could stay legends with this one. The next record could never meet the expectations.

Yes, I couldn't agree more. Once you make art that every one likes, never make art again! That will definitely make for more great albums!

idk I sort of thought the same way about Brand New and then Science Fiction was incredible (let's forget all the other stuff that happened after that...)

That may be true but BN are probably the exception to the rule. The odds of a band returning on the heels of an album like this and just blowing everyone away again are slim.
With that said, I'll always root for more material. If I could have a 6th Brand New LP tomorrow I'd take it, and same goes for these guys and a follow-up to this.

I think they could match this. I don't know why I think that, but they're still a fairly young band after all.
