Tbh Captain it is very hard to write good songs in a genre like this without resorting to rhythmic chugging etc. and compared to a lot of other industrial metal bands in this vein, I feel these guys do it quite well because it feels at they're trying to do something a little bit more than usual I guess.

It has potential but I don't feel these guys know how to write music that is effective. Hey, Empyrean was very effective! But I partly agree with you on this album. This was a fun listen and I really like the band and what they've set out to do (an epic six-part space journey? Count me in), but to me Empyrean (the predecessor) was both more cohesive and more coherent than this album. Xenon has improved guitar playing, but at the same time I feel it's a step-back in songwriting. It just doesn't have that epic journey feel that Empyrean had.

The track Anathema on the last album was really good, this is ok but I didn't get blown away by anything on it. Would probably be a 4 if it wasn't for the incredibly compressed vocals though.

i'm confused. do they have more than one vocalist? i'm hearing a chick and what sometimes sounds like a pakistani dude chanting, on top of the harsh vox, which I assumed belong to the main singer
and are they sampling an orchestra or do they have a legit orchestra backing them?
