Always looked at this album as the downfall of Sepultura tbh. Revisited it today after seeing a ranking video on youtube where 3 out of the 4 hosts listed this one as their favorite. I dig it more than I did back in the day and my rating is definitely going to get bumped. There's some pretty damn cool riffs on here. I think I was just bummed to hear that the slowed it down on this one when I first jammed it.
On another note I've been listening to this cool podcast called Heavy Metal historian where the host covers a bunch of the metal subgenres. He breaks down the history citing notable bands and influencers while playing clips of noteworthy tracks. Each subgenre is covered in 3 episodes, one being the origin of, then the rise of, and finally the future of. It's inspired me to go down a wormhole of groove Metal followed by some industrial probably. If anyone knows of any other podcasts or youtube channels that do this kind of thing let me know. Been trying to find new ways to kill time at work recently and these have been pretty cool but I'm almost out of episodes sadly.
