it's so tedious when people make hating random mainstream stuff so much a part of their personality... just get over it

Couldn't agree more with this comment...
"Forget the song.
Remember the spirit, the camaraderie, the sense of being part of something that mattered.
The gang mentality, us against the world and we were going to win.
The tunes, the football results, the nights had out, the feeling of actually believing anything was possible and if it wasn’t and we were out of our place it didn’t matter because the next adventure was a blink away.
Remember that? Nah course you don’t because nothing has ever been the same and the internet killed life."
This album is part of something so nostalgic for me that it has become untouchable despite how much my tastes have changed since those days. As always, each to their own and I can fully understand why people would not enjoy Oasis.

Zak man you nailed it.
I’ve been on a nostalgia kick and was playing Different Class by Pulp every now and then this month and got recommended a ‘Classic Brit Pop’ playlist on Spotify for my drive home on a day I didn’t fancy anything in particular so I played it.
First track was Rock and Roll Star and I was thinking, I wonder who the new Oasis is right now? Then I thought Arctic Monkeys were my generations Oasis for sure off their first two albums.
Point is, I don’t think there was one after that. The world had already changed to be far more online but covid has completely fucked it now and it’s not going back.
Nobody wants to spend their days on the sunsheeine anymore.

Would highly recommend watching Supersonic (the documentary on these guys) if you are a fan, great stuff.

I will always search for the sunsheeine!!!
The fact remains despite everything that has been lost these tunes still retain every ounce of spirit they always have.
They’re still absolute fuckin belters.

Still bums me out that Acquiesce didn't make this album. Easily my favourite song by them

Part of the magic though.
The amount of absolute blinders that this band churned out from 94-97 is nearly unmatched.
Acquiesce, Round Are Way, Headshrinker, Rockin Chair, Masterplan all could’ve been on this album and all would’ve stood out.

Agreed. Band had an absolutely banging 20 song set list just from the first 2 albums and the b-sides. Noel was a songwriting machine. I still remember when l first heard this and Definitely, Maybe back to back for the first time. Was blown away at the consistency. Every song was at least great, most were amazing.

Lol yeah, the condonable KEEP quotient for this is forever Don't Look Back In Anger + 1-2 songs of your choice that aren't named Wonderwall. Would probs be Some Might Say and Cast No Shadow for me, but that's not a hill to die on
