Ok lads just relistened and this might a be 5.
Always been my fave Tool but that spin just reaffirmed it.
Every song is amazing, Parabol/Parabola is easily one of the best songs ever made.
Triad is hella underrated and the closer caps the album off on a perfect creepy note.

Definitely a 5. The hardest of 5s.
My favorite Tool album also (and t/t is fav Tool song). This was my favorite album of all time for 10-15 years — and it still might be — but now I’ll just say it’s in my top 3.
Saw them six times on the tour cycle for this album (on shrooms half those times) and it changed my life. I was about 20-21 so still very impressionable.

Re Triad, during that song live, they had a group of contortionists dangle from the ceiling by their feet and start dancing/gyrating/contorting to the music upside down. Shit was crazy.

Hell yeah man, I haven’t seen them in about 3 years now. It is time. Those Lateralus shows were the best shows I’ve ever seen (and I’ve been to a lot of shows). NIN is up there as well.
Aenima was always my least favorite in the past (not counting Opiate), but it definitely grew on me and is now my third favorite. So many great songs — just so happens to be some filler and a couple meh songs.

True. It begins to lag a bit with Hooker, but really picks up with the t/t. Still a 5 album for me. Undertow is a 4.5.
