It's pretty neat. I'm definitely liking this album a lot more than their first on first spin. Still gotta give that one another's chance

The first album I bought from Cathedral was “Forrest Of Equilibrium” which was my first album from a Doom Metal band and immediately I absolutely loved the massive, crushing riffs and slow eerie atmosphere that I imagined in my head that Doom Metal was supposed to sound like at its best based on the early foundation of bands like Black Sabbath and Pentagram. The cover art also drew me in and helped my mind to associate this band and their sound to a majestic carnival-like fairy tale which I now find inseparable from the music this band creates. Like others I was only put off by the vocals of Lee Dorrian but that’s how it usually goes with any singer who has their own distinct sound, but just like the signature artwork the band uses I now feel as though Dorrian’s vocals are completely inseparable from the rest of the band and I wouldn’t want to hear any of these classic Metal tunes with any other singer. I just bought “the Ethereal Mirror” on vinyl and can’t wait to hear it for the first time when it arrives! I also now need to find “Forest Of Equilibrium” and “the Carnival Bizarre” on vinyl to own the majestic trilogy of one of Doom Metals most underrated and unique bands.

I slept on this album for way too long. Really cool stuff. They had a song on a 6 disc Earache set that was crucial in me getting into metal but I was checking out so much stuff at the time that they got lost in the mix. Found this on vinyl real cheap and gave it a go though and I'm not disappointed. Gonna give the rest of their discography a listen and hopefully find some gems

Already enjoying the others I've had time to check. The Hopkins EP ended up being the one I heard back in the day so the debut was new to me too! Glad I stumbled across this
