Where Is Now? has brought me back to the album more than Smile but overall it's still a solid album. Haven't checked Ego or Eco yet though

Ego/Eco are more electronic and soft, yet still capture that sparkle that David is known for.

Eco is so worth checking, if it was a bit longer it would be absolutely breathtaking

I bought both discs, just never sat down to listen to them. Which do you think is better?

Def ECO for me, the vocalists are good and unique and Dan Wieten gives a fantastic performance, also love the ambience and 'light' theme, EGO is much darker and instrumental. ECO is very poppy but imo it works without being cloying as the song structures themselves are complex and the diversity of genres makes up for some overly sugary hooks. It is a very dynamic and emotive listen, and as always both are fantastically produced

Hard to believe it's been nearly 5 years since this masterpiece. Smile is an all-time great tune.

I used to dislike the vocals on Smile, but over time I realised what a unique and cathartic performance it is. And when she lets rip on the belted cleans her voice sounds so good.

Also yeah, Bilo 4.0 when?

I'm surprised it took you this long. Djelmash's gradually increasingly unhinged performance is one of my favourite vocal performances of anything ever. It's like listening to a person teetering on the edge of insanity while slowly tipping over and then saying "fuck it" and jumping.

Oh I've liked it for a long time now, I was just remembering back to when I first heard it. It's definitely an acquired taste and the first verse especially is an uncomfortable first exposure, but over time I came to appreciate how there's nothing else out there like it. You described it perfectly! The notes she hits on the final chorus are SUCH a good payoff

Ah gotcha! Yeah, I remember listening to it for the first time and wondering what was going on with the vocals then getting to the final chorus and being floored. Easily my pick for SOTY of 2014 just on the vocal performance alone.

Good pick, I think Where is Now? slightly edges it for me as that was a first-time floorer, mostly because I thought I'd uncovered some rare unreleased Devin track that I'd never heard before haha

It sounds kinda cheesy upon first listen. It took me a while to really get into her vocals on that track too.
