most fans of this bands and indeed most of fans bands that greatest hits really mostly just care about the singles and whatever is slightly more commercial from the band, so there's really no reason to think hard about it because the singles are pretty much exactly what their fans want

well i cant speak for anyone else but i hate U2 cause they suck so theres that, and if hating a band that sucks is elite then hell yea sign me up

Hating U2 doesn't make you elite ( specially is you dig mainstream stuff like deadmau5 which is only acceptable for a party ), besides being objective the only 2 really bland efforts of this band are pop and no line in the horizon, half of the most recent stuff of u2 is quite decent and the 80's material is cool, besides they put a very good live show and in the instrumental part they have more pros than negative things.
