I meant more like what phase the genre of deathcore has gone into. First it's formation, then codification, then peak, and then comes a phase where elements of the genre are mixed with different stuff. I don't know if any band before these guys mixed deathcore elements with black metal elements, even though it seems an intuitive enough thing

The Black Dahlia Murder did. It's a very different sounding band though. Still, Deathcore+Black Metal are still in the order of the day (i'm referring VERY mainly to Unhallowed lol)

Yeah, because their other material simply has nothing to do with deathcore, hem hem.

Hmm i don't feel that way. There's always a nuance here and there. Even of Black Metal, some riffs idk at least thats how i feel

Well, TBDM is pure melodeath with blackened influences to my ears. Their only deathcore elements are their way of looking, dressing and the audience they market to.

That's kinda true. Still some sounding breakdowns here and there and i DO know that breakdowns are not
unique to core music. Just saying, i can still hear the deathcore spirit float around there, in some
releases at least haha. One could say it's those aspects you mentioned working in that way for me

They're an alright band by all means, "Carbonized in Cruciform" is still my jam. But recently I can't listen to anything for more than a few weeks and get bored by it, no matter how good it is. I need new stuff all the time, it's kinda tiresome : (

TBDMs first ep is deathcore but I didn't really feature any black metal elements. And Abigail Williams first ep Legend was basically symphonic black metal mixed with deathcore. But agreed bands like Ovdi and Lorelei made those elements a staple in there sound.

I like Decimate The Weak, but I never thought of them as ingenious or creative whatsoever and I agree that Ovdi and Lorelei pull off that style so much better.

Winds Of Plague made one actually creative album when they made The Great Stone War imo. The title track of that album is absolutely nuts holy shit.
I've been thinking about going through Lorelei's Lore Of Lies, outta do that soon too

The Great Stone War was pretty cool. The solo in Battle Scars is awesome.

Oh and yeah, TBDM's first EP was their most Deathcore release by far.

I don't think Lorelei is 60% as good as this.

And btw, if a chilled out black guy said "Lore of Lies" it would sound almost exacly like "Lorelei". Haha. Try that, guys.
