ok i've given this album 6+ complete listens so now i can feel like im being real when saying that i believe it's overrated. It's a well balanced album, strong at times, tons of atmospheric elements but in the end i don't feel like it's extremely memorable and all the atmosphere has lead me pretty much nowhere i expected it to take me. It just feels heavy as hell but sometimes i miss the point of what the guitars were supposed to add to the songs. idk

Thanks everyone so much for the feedback! We're on tour, so we haven't gotten a chance to really look over this stuff, so we were blown away at the response. As far as the last comment, I kind of wish I understood what you meant by that last sentence...As we actually put a lot of work into the guitar riffs! Sorry you think it's overrated, but we appreciate all feedback either way. Thanks again dudes! @Evreaia Grothis will be on our upcoming EP! It's still definitely around. Just going on the album where it will fit the complete story/concept we are going for next.

I meant that it feels overrated for the scores given in this site, but that's just my opinion. I can say that Winter In Tomis, for instance, is brilliant and memorable in many ways. The whole album is hard hitting, i was between a 3 and a 3.5 for a good while, but in the end after listening so many times, i expected it to feel more memorable in general. About my comment on the guitars, i feel like sometimes they get overwhelmed by the synthesized sounds and that as often they tend to become what one would expect out of a djent/deathcore band trying to thread along a couple of minutes, despite the decent lead work you filled the album with. I guess it doesn't work for me, what you went for. Mainly because i didn't find the atmospheres engulfing enough, and that seemed to be your main focus.
Take all of this with a generous amount of respect from me, you have been delivering some incredible jams and i was by no means intending to diminish your great effort. You're a great band and i'm hopeful that you will keep achieving great things, just as much as the anyone else who loves your work.

is this anything like the hype for portal of i
|

This album sounds pretty interesting so far. It's definitely above average for the genre at least.
|
| |
"is this anything like the hype for portal of i"
yeah
except NeO was just average for a good genre, ovid is far above average for a shitty genre
either way, its kind of overrated, the average would be more realistic around a 3.5
